Has it Really been Two weeks?

So I have now been here for two weeks  now. It's crazy to see time just fly by already. My days this week were definately spent well, busy.

Monday - Thursday
I started off this week being up at 730 am! That was definately a struggle for me since everyone knows how much  I love to sleep. By 830 a team of about 150 + middle school students came to our ministry to help out. We had 3 stations each day for them. The stations that were given to them were Feeding, Reading and Digging. Here at Kids International Ministries ( KIM) they run a feeding program for communities. The kids had a community come to the school and they were able to prepare and serve the food for them as well as preparing and serving the food for all the children at the school. It was really neat to hear the kids talking about how sad they felt for these families and kids. I heard a lot of them say they wanted to come back and volunteer all the time here. When they went to the reading station they were in the library and each of them had a student in the school. The student read to there older buddy. After they were finished reading they would do an exercise to help them. Last but not least there was digging.. Now you're probably wondering what were the kids digging exactly? Here in the Philippines there are a ton of kids who don't even know how to swim. They have never been taught. KIM decided they wanted to dig a pool for the community kids . They want to teach kids how to swim. What better place to do that?

On Wednesday, we got 12 full boxes of donations. In the boxes they consisted of clothes for adults, kids, teens, babies, school supplies, shoes, toys, and everything else you could imagine. There are definately needs here but, God is really here at this ministry and bringing so much to them. Wednesday-Friday we spent every afternoon going through the boxes sorting out everything. We had piles and piles throughout the whole guest house living room. I didn't know when I would see the piles go down.

On Thursday night we took out some of Cindi's Angels to dinner and ice cream. Every week they have bible verse contest's and the winning group gets to go out to dinner . It is really neat to see each of them strive to win. They strive for that date with her, for that time to spend with her.

Friday we continued our sorting of clothes.. Its been getting better every day. The floor has been showing more. :) haha. After a few hours of that we brought some of the middle school girls back to our condo to swim for an hour before heading to the JAZ home for a huge slumber party. The JAZ home consists of 29 + girls. We spent the night watching movies, eating popcorn and chocolate, and just alot of Chaos. A lot of the girls grabbed there beds and we cleared the whole living room floor for them. The party was a day of fun and excitement.

The weekends are my days off. I was able to relax from all the chaos of the party. I spent time with my friend Crystal and just sat in the presence of God speaking to him.

I am so excited to be here and see God work wonders here at the ministry and in my life.

thanks for reading... I hope to have pictures up soon for everyone...
